Akara fiddled with her lock pendant as she stared at the sky.
She sighed. Today was yet another school day that went by without anything, well, interesting happening. Once again, she was staying outside her dorm room. She had decided, since her first meeting with her roommate, to stay out of their shared room as much as possible so neither of them would feel awkward.
She shivered a little in the cold Winter air, the weather still refusing to let Spring move in.
Her thoughts began to wander as she continued staring at the sky. First, she thought of her stories. What should she write next? No one knew about her stories... well, a handful of people did, but they never read her stories. At least, she tried not to let people see it... Who was the last one to read her stories? Was it her Mom...?
Akara bit her lip, feeling a sudden burst of homesickness. No, not now. She can't think of home now of all times. That reminded her of her childhood friend-
She looked up, surprised at the sudden appearance of a tall boy in front of her, blocking her view of the sky and distracting her thoughts.
"I-I'm sorry what...?"
"The pool... where?" The boy repeated bluntly. She blinked and pointed to her right, towards the swimming pool.
"Over there...?" The boy looked to his right, then back to her. She could've sworn she saw some confusion in his face.
"Ano... Do you want me to show you there...?" She asked hesitantly, glad for the distraction but nervous about talking to someone. He nodded and she stood up, dusting off her skirt. She ended up asking him numerous questions before finally remembering her manners.
"Umm... do you live around here...?" She asked. He shook his head before pausing and nodding his head "You just moved in-?" He nodded again "Ahhh welcome to then umm-- I-I'm sorry, I forgot to ask your name..."
"...Hanamura, Seiji" He introduced himself.
It was too familiar to her. She gripped her lock pendant, biting her lip before replying.
"Welcome to Ikehara High, Hanamura-san..."
